Description

Why You Want a DrySpec Tool Tube

The DrySpec Tool Tube measures 12 inches overall when closed, as well as from mounting foot tip to mounting foot tip. The tube body measures 12 inches from the base of the tube body to the closed cap with the foot at the opposite end of the cap extending 2 inches beyond the tube.

The tube is 4 inches wide at it’s widest point with a main body diameter of 3.5 inches, and a depth of 8.5 inches. The foot at the cap end is 3 inches wide with 3 round 8mm mounting holes while the opposite foot is 2 inches wide and has 1 elongated 8mm mounting hole.

The feet provide 3/4 of an inch clearance for the main tube and 1/2 inch at the tube’s widest point.

Mounting Kit Notes: The mounting kit includes the proper size Drill Bit Hex Head Screws Sealing Washers and Large Exterior Washers as detailed in the Installation Instructions attached below. If you would like to attach the Tool Tube using an alternate method please order the optional Mounting Brackets .

Check out the totally Twisted Suzuki DL650 which is outfitted with this DrySpec component

Note:
  • The upper mounting tab offers 3 mounting holes that are not illustrated in the instructions.
  • There is a small hole in the Tube to equalize the pressure, and allow the cap to be removed at different air pressures/altitudes. A bit of tape can be used to cover the hole, making them watertight when required.

    Nice product !!

Piece of mind knowing a liter of fuel might give me a 10 miles range just in case I get stuck somewhere

    It has a hole?

    ChrisG

It’s made by ‘dry spec’, the threaded lid has a rubber seal but just below the top mount there is a small hole? Otherwise it’s exactly as you see on the product page.

    Good capacity tool storage

Bought two to install on my bike to store tools. Wish there were an option without the mounting ears, but I just cut them off and used clamps.

    Very functional....

I use this particular storage unit on my 2010 Vstrom with OEM luggage…sits nicely along the inside of the rack on the left side of the bike…slightly modified my rack (one small hole drilled) to line up with the centre hole on the unit so that it mounted slightly at an upwards angle….great for lube and a rack and perhaps a few tools.

    Great Emergency Fuel Tube

    kaber5150

I got one of these about a year ago and I’m very pleased with it. I mounted it with a set of framing braces from Ace Hardware to my side case rack. The extra fuel actually saved a friends bacon on a long trip in June, he ran out of gas two miles short of town.

A decent enough container but not impressed with the vent hole.
